Reckless or criminal activity

A person whose reckless behaviour or intentional act that contributed to their injuries, risks losing financial support benefits.

If at the time of the accident, a person was;


  • engaged in conduct which created a risk and recklessly ignored that risk;
  • found guilty of manslaughter, dangerous driving, or an offence that was intentional, reckless, or criminally negligent that caused harm.


The injured person will not be entitled to benefits for:
