Other insurance cover for personal injuries

Any entitlement to MAC Scheme benefits may be reduced if the accident is covered by other insurance or a compensation scheme for personal injury.

Where a person who is injured or dies in a motor vehicle accident and is insured under another policy (for example, income protection, total permanent disability, travel insurance or another compensation scheme) any entitlement to MAC benefits will be reduced by the amount of the other insurance cover.

Workers’ compensation

Where a person is injured or dies as a result of a motor vehicle accident and they are covered by workers compensation, there is no entitlement to MAC Scheme benefits.
