Telehealth appointments

Telehealth - an easier way to get the care you need, where and when you need it.

What is telehealth?

In many parts of Australia and the Northern Territory, a visit to a doctor, medical specialist or allied health professional can involve hours of travel or may be difficult for someone with illness, disabilities or limited mobility.

Telehealth is a way of conducting an appointment with your doctor or specialist via the telephone, video conferencing or using a personal computer, iPad or mobile phone.

Depending on the circumstances, and if you don't need a physical examination, you may be able to arrange a Telehealth appointment with your doctor or other health provider.

Telehealth appointments

Please talk to your health practitioner and TIO MAC case manager about the options that may be available for a Telehealth appointment and the necessary arrangements for this.

If this type of appointment is approved, the medical practitioner or treatment provider will invoice TIO MAC directly for the appointment cost.
